Haverhill Autumn Festival 2010 Highlights

RSVP & The Volunteer Center (RSVP) wishes to thank the not-for-profit partners, sponsoring businesses, vendors, visitors, and committee members who made the Third Annual Haverhill Autumn Festival FUNdraiser, held on Saturday September 11, 2010 a success for our program and the community. Check out the 2010 Pictures.

Coordinated by RSVP, the event was a collaborative effort between Alumni Hall, the Haverhill Historical Society, and the Haverhill Library, each with their own events. The flea market, with vendors¢â¡Á fees benefiting RSVP, drew 44 venders from local towns and as far away as Lowell, Maine! They offered everything from antiques and collectables to handcrafted items by professional artisans, plus tasty treats. Other attractions which drew people to the historic Commons included Erika and Hana Krauss and their llamas, which ran an obstacle course; a colonial encampment organized by Wayne Mitchell; and State Police K9 Unit demos by Trooper Khoeler and Remington.

A highlight of the day was the ceremony honoring First Responders from departments providing mutual aid to Haverhill. Representative Rick Ladd, the Master of Ceremonies, gave a moving speech in remembrance of 9/11, and presented Certificates from Governor Lynch to these departments from New Hampshire and Vermont. Our gratitude to the Haverhill Memorial Post 5245 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars for their Presentation of Colors.

We appreciate our sponsors who helped cover advertising and marketing:

    SERGEANTS:
  • Blackmount Equipment.
  • Lyman Realty.

The day would not have been so well publicized without the help of The Bridge Weekly, The Journal Opinion, Trendy Times publishing press releases, and WYKR doing announcements. We also appreciate the Town for letting us use the scenic Commons!

Finally, this community event was made possible by the tremendous efforts of time and talent by committee members: Patricia Brady, Carol Coon, Jane Darby, Rick Ladd, Lesa Lakeman-McDonald, and Keisha Luce.
