  • Martin Luther King, Jr. day is "A day on...not a day off!" January 16, 2006 is the day that volunteers across the country will help keep Dr. King's legacy of service to others alive.




    National Volunteer Week recognizes volunteers at the local, state, and national levels during the week of April 23 - 29, 2006.


    Join Hands Day logo 2006: Join Hands Day brings young people together with adults to create new and better relationships by working as a team within there own neighborhoods on May 6, 2006.










    One Day's Pay logo: One Day's Pay honors the victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks through a voluntarily observed national day of service, charity and compassion. Annually on September 11, "One Day's Pay" encourages people to help others in need in any way they see fit.


    Make A Difference Day logo: Make A Difference Day aims to inspire and reward anyone helping others on this day. Submit an entry form about your volunteer activity on October 28, 2006 to be eligible for a national or local award and for a cash donation to a charitable cause, as well as mention in the USA Weekend magazine and on the Make A Difference web site.


    National Family Volunteer Day calls families across the country to work together in volunteer service on November 18, 2006 to strengthen their communities, local businesses, and not-for-profit organizations.
